"Dear visitors! Frightened and fearless, angry and conciliatory, waiting and longing, dear sceptics and curious! Are you ready for an expedition into an immeasurable cosmos full of question marks and exclamation points? We invite you to join us on a journey through the dazzling galaxy of feminisms. But beware! Those who enter this galaxy must find a standing point among many. Which orbit will you take? Will the other stars and comets influence you? Or will the galaxy change with your entry? Keep your mind clear during the journey and always be considerate of your fellow explorers. The expedition begins."
Feminism - everyone has an opinion on it, or at least a feeling towards it. Depending on who we ask, we are told that feminist debates are becoming increasingly complex, confused, hostile, popular, exhausting or colourful. In "what the fem*?", together with the audience three performers embark on a performative journey through the feminist universe of discourse and shed light on the similarities and differences between various feminist positions. Radical, liberal, eco, queer, intersectional - what unites and what divides them? The installative performance parcours through, that moves through several rooms and stations, poses the question of how counterpoints of feminism are compatible with each other. Using dance, theatre, installation and video art, we invite the audience to reflect on whether and how we can agree on common concepts, values and visions.
